Is Atmospheric Science a good major? Is being a professor in this field a difficult job?

I was looking and a lot of them have physics and math backgrounds. Is that a stressful job or does it require a lot of publishing? Also, could somebody work part-time in forecasting and earn an MS? I'm wondering about this field and or electrical engineering. Know anybody with this degree that had sort of an unconventional or different career? Would somebody with an atmos sci degree be a good energy trader?
