Are the Vikings the defending champions?

hi. i'm a saints fan. i was in Minnesota a few days ago and came across some Viking fans. they told me that they are the defending champions. that's funny because i thought my Saints were. i clearly remember watching the SuperBowl in February, and the Saints beat the Colts 31 to 17. the Vikings' fans tell me im mistaken. they told me that "they" beat the Colts 31 to 17. i guess i must be stupid or something. forgive me N.F.L. and this whole time i thought my favorite team won it last season. bummer. well congratulations Vikings & Brett Farvosaurus. oh and by the way. Brad Childress made a heck of an onside kick call in the SuperBowl. he's an outstanding coach.
